About Vanta
Vanta (San Francisco, founded 2018) is a compliance automation platform. Its third-party risk management product, which Vanta previously called Vendor Risk Management, discovers vendors automatically (including shadow IT and AI tools), scores inherent risk, runs AI security reviews against vendor trust centres, SOC 2 reports and DPAs, and monitors for breaches. Vanta’s help centre says the Vendors page is included on all plans, while some third-party risk features are available only as an add-on. Prices are not published.
How to choose
The two can work side by side. Vanta runs your wider compliance programme and flags the vendor control; Vendorapp holds the vendor register, screening and contracts, and you export its reports into Vanta as evidence for that control. Vendorapp does not have a direct Vanta integration today.
What Vendorapp covers
For the wider market, see the best third-party risk management software (thirteen tools by category) and how to choose vendor management software. Other comparisons: Drata alternative, Venminder alternative, OneTrust alternative.
Common questions
If you only need the vendor-risk part of Vanta, a dedicated vendor management platform such as Vendorapp covers the register, risk ratings, sanctions screening, contracts and audit evidence, with published pricing and a free plan. If you need Vanta’s wider compliance automation too, the realistic alternatives are other compliance suites such as Drata or Secureframe.
Vanta does not publish prices. Its help centre says the Vendors page is included on all plans and some third-party risk management features are available only as an add-on, so the cost depends on your plan and quote.
Not for Vanta as a whole. Vanta automates a whole compliance programme; Vendorapp covers vendor management and third-party risk only. Vendorapp replaces Vanta’s vendor-risk features if those are what you need, and otherwise works alongside it.
Yes. Teams manage vendors in Vendorapp and export its vendor register, assessments and monitoring records as evidence for the vendor control in Vanta. There is no direct integration between the two today.
